In 2017, our studio started working on the first feature film by Alexander Sokolyuk, "The Book of Life". "The Book of Life" is a large-scale children's fairy tale which takes place in the fabulous country of Lyonia. The studio was faced with the most difficult task from scratch to develop a fabulous world, unlike the others. Our artists had to design dozens of virtual locations, such as fairy castles, magical forests, huge dungeons, fortresses and dwellings of fairy creatures. A huge amount of work has been done to create unique plants, trees, household items and magical effects.

To create a unique and inimitable fairytale world of Lyonia, our team of artists has developed 100 unique fairy trees with a realistic physical model. Each tree has its own unique properties and reacts to gusts of wind. Each leaf of the tree is different and can fly off the branch in strong winds. The size of disk space occupied by one tree reaches 300 GB.

At the moment the film "The Book of Life" is the largest-scale project of the OKO-GRAPHICS studio. During the work on the film, we have developed many useful technologies that will be used in future large projects. Our team of artists is always ready to solve problems of any complexity to implement the most complex ideas.

The production of the film lasted 2 years from April 2017 and ended in spring 2019. 90% of filming was carried out in the pavilion using chroma key technology. During the entire production of the film, more than 1600 frames were taken with computer graphics. A team of artists led by Alexander Sokolyuk worked at all stages of production, from concept art and storyboarding to the final color correction of the film for screening on 35mm film. This allowed us to achieve maximum results.
